C#

I have been playing with C# for the last few days and I am really starting to like it more. Implementing Singletons are so easy compared to some of the other languages. Additionally the runtime reflection that the .Net framework provides is quite nice! I’ll have to post some fun C# code in the next couple of days.

filter filter who has the filter

Been working on the inertial processing software lately. Finally got the package to store the Kalman Filter state vectors. Having a spot of difficulty getting it to load the state vectors though. That too shall pass! I am getting really excited by the potential for what this means to the package. I will keep updating about the progress.
On an unrelated note I am contemplating a photo project for this year. Project365 failed last year because it took too much time to keep up with since work was crazy. This year I am going to take on a photo a week project. I think each month will have a unique theme. January’s theme will be Suburban Decay. It should be interesting.

reverse course

Steven is out of the office for the next few days, so I decided that we must have fun with it. I’ve always thought that software pranks lacked a certain level of sophistication. So, when our mouse flipping software was defeated by the office virus scanning I was overjoyed. This meant that the only course of action was a hardware prank. It turns out that he has a quite old optical mouse, an older Dell unit manufactured by Logitech. This USB mouse uses the Agilent HDNS-2000 chipset. A quick consultation of the circuit board and datasheet revealed that Logitech was using the quadrature output of this device to sense motion. Reversing the quadrature polarity reverses the perceived direction of motion. So, I set about switching XA and XB, YA and YB. After cutting a few pins, and soldering a few jumper wires we were in business. I now have a mouse whose cursor will move down when you move it up, and left when you move it right, and vice-versa. Anyways, thought it was a fun and creative way to torment an employee.

Well Christmas is finally done. Hopefully, people will be less full of that holiday cheer. You know, the kind of cheer that turns them into raving jack asses. I managed to get Amy’s gifts. She got me a lensbaby muse! I will post some pictures soon.

the week is done

Well the week is almost over. We got both TITAN systems out of the shop today. Still can’t recreate the bug that we saw yesterday. Found a new bug today too! Yay bugs! I will post some pictures soon of the new systems that we delivered to DEA.

lightroom update

So, a new update of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom went live today. I am currently downloading it, and should get it installed shortly. Maybe it will solve some of the problems with the editing brush. Can’t hurt it. I will be trying it out while I finish up the Peru photos so that I can get those online. In the mean time, here, have another photo!
