Well, my anual trip to Ottawa is now underway. Everything should go well this year and allow me to be back in the states on schedule.
We have started receiving wedding gifts! Hooray! We can now start to use our fun note cards to send out thank you notes.
After being without power for 20 days we finally have our power back correctly! We can now run the A/C, and the fridge, and all without the risk of burning down the house!
Well it is 16 days after the storm and we are still without proper power. Apparently the fire hazard that is my electrical service is where Centerpoint draws the line about safety being concern number one.
So, in addition to a failing economy I have failing power!
Atleast, it looks like the reception site is still standing! Also, our photographer has power again and invitations are in the mail.
I have been meaning to post about this for a while… I have been toying with honey in the kitchen. So far I have created a few things to good reviews. Here is a recipe for a orange honey chicken glaze.
Combine a half cup of honey, one tablespoon of vanilla extract, and two tablespoons of balsamic vinegar.
Stir until well mixed.
Add a half teaspoon of sage, oregeno, and thyme.
Add a teaspoon of dried Valencia orange peel.
Marrinate three boneless skinless chicken breasts with mixture while grilling on high.

The wedding stuff is finally starting to get taken care of again. We have stuffed the first round of envelopes and they are in the mail as of today. Tonight we will print the final invitations and get those in the mail. Hopefully, everyone will start receiving their goodies soon.
That’s about it in terms of wedding stuff. We’re slowly recovering from Ike. We didn’t sustain any damage to our house thankfully. Our power is a bit wonky (floating neutral) and has caused two small electrical fires. Hopefully Centerpoint will fix the problem today and everything will be back to normal.

We got two missions in today after getting a late start due to inclement weather between Renton and Bremerton. The system seems to have worked just fine. I’ve still got data to process to verify that. However, I got over 100 pictures snapped today! We had an overfly of the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and got to see some aircraft carriers and a few nuclear subs! We weren’t supposed to take any pictures there. 
However, I got some decent shots of some other parts of the missions today. A few are below!
